WANTED
MISSIONARY TEACHER FOR TIMOR LESTE
The Mar Thoma Syrian Church in Singapore requires the services of a Missionary Teacher to spearhead and establish the Church's mission in Timor Leste (East Timor). The mission that is envisaged is for starting a free kindergarten to teach English to the Timorese children. We seek young men with a zeal for mission to take up the challenge of setting up this mission in Timor Leste. The Kindergarten would be started in the capital, Dilli.
The candidate should be :
- a Marthomite with a strong affiliation to the Church's dogmas
- aged between 24 and 30 years and single.
- a basic degree holder and have a strong commitment for mission as evidenced by past work (volunteer or otherwise).
- proficient in English (oral and written)
- able to work independently and have good people skills
Teaching experience with young children would be an added advantage.
The posting would be for a period of 2 years. Remuneration in US$ would be on local terms. Free housing would be provided. Two way air fare would also be provided once during the 2 year term. The selected candidate would be given a 2 week orientation in Singapore before taking up the position in Timor Leste.
